As one of Mack & Mikullitz’s managing shareholders, Kelly devotes a substantial amount of her practice to representing clients dealing with difficult family matters.  She has over twenty years of litigation experience guiding clients through stressful and highly emotional complex legal matters such as marital separations, divorces, custody disputes, parenting time disputes, family offenses, and domestic violence.  Kelly also negotiates and when necessary, litigates highly complex financial issues regarding equitable distribution, spousal maintenance, and child support.  She takes great pride in compassionate collaboration with her clients as they navigate one of the most difficult times in their lives.  She firmly believes that it is important for clients to feel understood and supported by their attorney, especially given the fact that divorce and family law issues are very intimate and difficult matters in a person’s life.   

Kelly also has over two decades of experiencing in representing hundreds of injured children and adults, dedicating a significant amount of her practice to advocating for individuals with serious brain injuries. A legal force and advocate for those suffering from brain injuries, Kelly has been active in organizing speaking engagements and presenting to attorneys, neighborhood associations, schools, and civic groups throughout New York State and at national conferences. She was an active member of the Brain Injury Association of New York State (BIANYS) for nearly twenty years and served on their Board of Directors from 2014 through 2023, first serving as Secretary and then serving as 2nd Vice President before being elected as 1st Vice President in June 2019.  She was also an active member of their Resource Management, Governance, and Executive Committees.  

For thirteen years before joining Mack & Mikullitz, Kelly was the supervising partner of a prominent Albany law firm’s Lead Poisoning and Toxic Exposure Litigation Group.  In managing one of the leading lead poisoning injury litigation groups in upstate New York, Kelly was a tremendous resource to other attorneys, landlords, tenants, government agencies, and the media in educating them about lead poisoning and its effects on children.  

Attorney Mikullitz was honored to be designated as an Attorney for Children by the Third Judicial Department Office of Attorneys for Children in 2016.  For many years, she was appointed by Family Court Judges to represent children in Rensselaer County Family Court. 

Kelly’s community service efforts also include her service to the Third Judicial District’s Committee on Character and Fitness, her active participation in the End Distracted Driving Student Awareness Initiative, and her former role of Vice-President of the Donald P. Sutherland Parent and Teachers Organization.

Kelly was twice named to the Upstate New York Rising Stars List by Super Lawyers, which acknowledges attorneys under 40 years old and in practice less than 10 years. The distinction is earned by less than 2.5% of all attorneys in New York State.  She has also been named to the Upstate New York Super Lawyers list, a distinction only earned by 5% of all attorneys in the State of New York.
